The Anthurium Forgetii Hybrid Australia Variegata shows the leaf shape typical of Forgetii — fully closed, without a notch at the leaf base — with pale variegated fields alongside. This specimen has three active shoots.
This genus is aimed at experienced collectors and needs constant conditions. Draughts, dry heated air and hard tap water are the three most common causes of leaf damage. Rainwater or filtered water extends leaf life considerably.
The variegation is sectoral. Every new leaf develops its own pattern: sometimes a pronounced half-moon, sometimes a mostly green leaf, sometimes a very pale one. This variation is inherent to the mechanism and cannot be controlled through care. The node tells you more than the current leaf: shoots emerging from variegated tissue are more likely to carry the pattern forward.
This plant is rooted and established. After shipping it may take a few days to acclimatise — slight leaf stress, curled leaves or a growth pause in the first two weeks are normal. Heavily variegated leaves are more vulnerable in transit than green ones and may show occasional browning at the edges.
