The Philodendron Orange Princess Galaxy Variegata emerges orange and darkens as it matures, while pale speckles and sectors remain. The colour development over the life of a leaf is particularly striking in this cultivar.
 
Bright position without direct sun. In variegated forms the pattern responds visibly to light level: too dark, and following leaves come out greener. More light usually brings the pattern back within a few leaves. Feed lightly every two weeks from spring through autumn.
 
The variegation is sectoral. Every new leaf develops its own pattern: sometimes a pronounced half-moon, sometimes a mostly green leaf, sometimes a very pale one. This variation is inherent to the mechanism and cannot be controlled through care. The node tells you more than the current leaf: shoots emerging from variegated tissue are more likely to carry the pattern forward.
 
This plant is rooted and established. After shipping it may take a few days to acclimatise — slight leaf stress, curled leaves or a growth pause in the first two weeks are normal. Heavily variegated leaves are more vulnerable in transit than green ones and may show occasional browning at the edges.
